What is in it
Four strains, and what each one is for.
Most labels give you a number and leave. Here is every organism in the capsule, and what the published research on it reports.
Lactobacillus Acidophilus
Holds ground. It competes for the space opportunistic organisms want, which matters most after a course of antibiotics.
Trialled for antibiotic-associated diarrhoea, where supplementation improved stool consistency and shortened how long symptoms lasted.
Bifidobacterium Lactis
Moves things along. When nothing is predictable any more, this is the one the trials measured.
In a dose-ranging trial, whole gut transit time fell from a mean of 49 hours to 21 on the higher dose across 14 days. Placebo did not move.
Lactobacillus Plantarum
The bloating one. This is the strain behind “I went gluten-free and I am still bloated all the time.”
In a placebo-controlled IBS trial, abdominal pain severity and daily frequency were both lower than placebo at four weeks. Bloating followed the same pattern.
Lactobacillus Paracasei
The barrier one. Less about how this week feels, more about the wall itself, which is what “leaky gut” is actually pointing at.
Studied for the tight-junction proteins that hold the gut wall closed (ZO-1, claudin-1, occludin) and for regulatory T cell balance.
MAKTREK® Bi-Pass
